WHAT IS THE COLORADO SEWING COALITION?
We are a coalition of community partners, non-profit and for-profit companies coming together to sew cloth masks for our front-line service workers and community members in need. Together, we’re addressing an urgent need for masks to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, while providing much needed sewing jobs to out-of-work community members.
DO CLOTH MASKS WORK?
In early April, the Center for Disease Prevention (CDC) recommended that the use of cloth masks can help block the spread of COVID-19, particularly by people who are asymptomatic. The CDC and many elected officials – including Colorado Governor Jared Polis.
By wearing cloth masks, front line service workers and those in need in our community can be safe, and leave the dwindling supply of N95 medical masks to healthcare works. Our cloth masks were designed by a nurse and are made of three layers – two layers of fabric and one layer of filtering material.
